Why Does Bum Sweat Even?

The fact is that we all owned watery bottoms, and it can’t be denied. Our body consists of 2 different types of sweat glands, which cause your body to sweat.

The 2 types are;

  • Eccrine Glands
  • Apocrine Glands

Eccrine Glands produces a mixture of water and salt to help you cool down the overall body temperature, under hot conditions. Whereas, Apocrine Glands discharge the smelly substances out of our body, which causes your sweat to smell.

These sweat glands are the reason for your bum to sweat. Whenever you will find yourself in a situation that increases body temperature, these sweat glands will secrete the sweat from different body parts, and the buttock is one of them.

Some of such situations are following;

  • Wearing unbreathable or a thick fabric underwear
  • Going out in Hot temperature
  • Exercising
  • Feeling anxious or stressed

The best part is that your butt does not contain the Apocrine Glands that produce smelly substances. Instead, it contains only Eccrine Glands therefore, you feel sweaty only, and do not smell bad. Otherwise, the sweaty butt situation can be more embarrassing for all of us.

How to Stop Bum Sweat On Chair?

There are a bunch of ways to follow if you want to stop leaving bum sweat marks on seats even after spending hours on them.

Let me give you a rundown on all of those ways so that you can have enough options to choose those that suited your condition and situation.

Here we go;

1. Picking the Underwear Wisely

You need to be mindful when picking up underwear, as its fabric can cause your bum to sweat. We would recommend you to go with natural fabric underwear such as Cotton.

Cotton under wears are good for better airflow, give a soft touch, and a comfortable environment down there. Wearing cotton underwear can keep your butt cool and dry for the longest period of time.

You can also opt for the mesh underwear, as they are breathable as well and keep a good airflow coming in and out. Other than that, specific moisture-wicking underwear can be a good choice as well, because they are designed to push the sweat water out and keep your butt dry.

Stop using underwear made from synthetic fabric such as nylon and polyester. Your butt won’t feel comfortable in it, sweat all day long, and cause you to leave a bum sweat mark on the seat.

2. Choose the Right Shape of Underwear

The moisture down there can cause your inner thighs to rub together, and the constant prolonged rubbing among inner thighs can lead you to burn, irritation, and sting. Therefore, we always recommend you opt for the Shorter underwear.

Shorties must be the choice for women, and boxer briefs must be opted by men to avoid dealing with such a situation.

3. Carry an Extra Pair of underwear

Some butts sweat more than others, so if you are one of those whose butts sweat a lot. Then we would recommend you carry a spare pair of underwear along with you.

And if you have chosen cotton fabric underwear, then carrying extra underwear is a must. Because if your butt starts sweating aggressively, the cotton will trap it and won’t let it exist easily. Ultimately, you will get more uncomfortable over the period of time. But when you get an extra pair of underwear, you will be able to replace it with the new one to resume your work after a half-day.

This way, you will never leave a bum sweat mark on your office chair and avoid the potential embarrassment at the end of the day.

4. Don’t sit still for hours

Sitting still for hours on an office chair in the same position heats up the environment down there. Resultantly, glands get activated and secrete sweat to cool down the temperature.

And when you keep on sitting without worrying about it, the sweat accumulates on your butt cheeks and between the crack of your buttock, causing a bum sweat mark on your seat eventually.

Therefore, you better not sit on a chair for long hours. You must take breaks, and walk around to let your buttock breathe a bit. The break can be as long as going to a bathroom or grabbing a coffee.

You should practice this activity at least after every hour. If not possible, then after 2 hours is a must for you.

5. Utilize Cooling Gel Cushion for your help

If you want to minimize the number of breaks during work hours to walk around for the air to flow down there, then using a Cooling gel cushion can be of your help.

Their honeycomb-designed grid helps the air to flow between your buttock and the seat, to keep your bum cool and dry. Your buttock does not die for the breeze anymore, and you can keep sitting for long hours without taking a walk around the break.

Another benefit of using a cooling get cushion is that it also enhances the comfort level and relieves a lot of pressure.

6. Take Bathroom Breaks

You should also consider taking bathroom breaks to dry the sweat by yourself. Take the paper towel or a cleaning cloth along with you, and wipe off all the sweat on your bum.

You just need to gently pat off the sweat and then clean the dry area consciously. Better not to rub the cloth against your skin, as it can cause irritation and pain afterward.

It won’t take much of your time but can save you from leaving a sweat bum mark on the chair.

7. Use Body Powder on your butt

After cleaning the sweat from the butt, you can also apply the body powder to stop your bum from sweating further. The best thing is that it does not only stop the sweat but removes the bad odors as well.

But bear in mind that not all body powder available on the market is suitable for you. There are studies, showing that some of the body powders can cause cancer if applied to the genitals.

So better be conscious, when making a decision for a powder. We would recommend you only choose natural and organic powders such as Tapioca Powder and Arrowroot powder.

8. Trim down the Pubic Hair

Pubic hair makes the environment warm down there, and triggers the sweat glands to produce sweat to balance out the temperature. Therefore, you should consider trimming your pubic hair timely to avoid dealing with excessive sweat.

Though, it won’t stop your bum from sweating completely but can eliminate one of the reasons that cause it to happen every now and then.

Do use anything whatever you want to. Let it be a trimmer, shaver, razor, or wax. But just don’t forget to get it done timely.

9. Stay Away From Spicy food, Alcohol, and Caffeine

You should stop intaking spicy foods because they heat up your body and trigger the sweat glands to do their magic, and make you uncomfortable. If you can’t completely say goodbye to them, then better to reduce the overall consumption as much as you can.

Not to mention, here from spicy food, we mean every type of spicy food. Whether it is Indian cuisine, pizza, or a Thai dish. You can not pick only one or two of your choice to stop eating, you have to stay away from all.

Alcohol also does the same to your body, increases the overall temperature, and causes sweat all over your body. Caffeine is also not much different and makes your body sweat instantly. We would recommend you stop intaking them as well.

10. Avoid Using Leather Chairs

No matter how good a leather Chair is, if you have a sweaty butt, then there is no point to use it for long hours of work. Because they never get designed with the proper ventilation.

Your butt won’t breathe at all on the leather chair, resultantly causing sweat and putting you in discomfort.

11. Use Breathable Chairs

But what to use, if leather chairs are not recommended for my butt?

You can switch to breathable and mesh office chairs. We know, you won’t find them attractive compared to the leather chairs, and won’t get the luxurious or executive feel that a leather chair gives you. But believe me or not, this is the only best way to reduce the sweat bum and ultimately stop leaving the bum sweat marks on your chair.

Because they offer you the airflow to your whole body, and never let the sweat get stuck down there. Your bum sweat will keep evaporating all day long, eventually, you won’t feel uncomfortable or irritated by any chance.

12. Choose Outfit Wisely

Your outfit also contributes to your sweating. Therefore, reducing the bum sweat can also be possible by choosing the outfit wisely. All you need to do is stop wearing the leather fabric or any synthetic fabric clothes because they are not breathable and block the airflow from everywhere. Consequently, it rewards you with excessive sweat.

You can choose the outfit of breathable fabric, and also start wearing loose outfits, for instance, men can opt for shorts, Polo Shirts, and trousers and ladies can go for skirts, loose pants, and Ballon sleeve shirts.

13. Get Dark Colored Bottom

Wearing a dark-colored bottom is not going to stop your bum sweat by any means, rather this point is mentioned for those, whose butt does not stop sweating even after applying all of the possible ways.

If you have failed to stop bum sweat, but must not fail to stop leaving bum sweat marks on your seat. Grab the Dark Colored or Black Colored bottom, because the wetness does not get prominent on them, as it does on other bottoms.

But if black/dark color pants are not your choice, you can also go with the patterned pants, because they also give very less visibility to your bum sweat wetness.

14. Use Panty Liners (Only for women)

This method is only stated for the women strictly, so better not to try doing it if you are a man. The Panty liners can be of great help to absorb all the sweat of the buttock and give you a relief and comfortable sitting experience for hours.

Before going out, just put it under your underwear, it will not let the sweat go out in any way possible and will absorb all of it.

15. Keep a Towel at your desk

Not everyone gets the privilege to change their office chair or to wear loose outfits at the workplace. If you are one of them, keeping a towel at your work desk is the solution to go with.

You can put the towel on your chair,  and sit on it. The sweat coming out will get absorbed by the towel and you will not have to worry about the bum sweat mark anymore. Whether you can sit on it, or can keep it at your chair’s back, and put it on the seat to hide and wipe sweat, whenever you stand out of it.

From all the towel options, Turkish towels would be the right choice to have around because of their multi-purpose nature. Other than using it to hide and wipe your sweat on a seat, you would be able to use it for multiple other things as well.

16. Menstrual Period Underwear (Only For Women)

Menstrual Period Underwears are designed to keep girls protected from leaving their period’s blood marks on the chair. It ensures to avoid the leakages and embarrassment in front of your colleagues.

If this is good enough to help you out in the menstrual period, then using it for the butt sweat will definitely work as well. However, it won’t be helpful to stop your bum sweat but can stop you from leaving a mark on your seat.

17. Visit the Doctor

If after applying all of the possible ways, and having proper ventilation down there, your problem remains the same. You don’t feel your butt stop sweating, there are chances of a medical condition that should be treated by a Doctor.

We would recommend you to visit the doctor if you find any of the following symptoms happening to you;

  • Excessive sweating during sleep at night
  • You sweat with pain in your chest
  • Excessive sweating and losing weight at the same time
  • Feel struggled to breathe properly and deal with excessive sweat

Final Thoughts

The main point to realize is that you need to keep the temperature regulated down there to avoid your butt sweating, which can be done in many ways. We have listed all of them, so you can choose one as per your situation.

But if you feel like your butt just can’t stop sweating, then you at least try to stop leaving its mark on your chair to be safe from potential embarrassment. And should also consult the doctor to treat, if it is happening due to any medical condition.
